Candlemakers Emiliano and Keri Palustre poured their first candles in 2014 in their kitchen in Long Beach, California. There was something intriguing about the idea of upcycling bottles of the wine and beer they loved and turning them into something special. Over the next few months, they refined and perfected their process, and started attending local arts fairs, where their candles flew off the shelves. Keri soon left her office job to make candlemaking her full-time obsession, while Emiliano refined his glass cutting skills so he could hand-cut and polish each and every upcycled bottle. Today, EKP Creations’ candles come in a vast array of scents and formats and are featured in retail stores and artisan markets throughout California. They use all-natural soy wax produced from American-grown soy beans. Soy burns clean and lasts long, but its greatest advantage is that it is completely renewable. Soy wax contains no toxins, carcinogens or pollutants, which means it’s less likely to trigger allergies. Because soy wax contains no petroleum, it burns clean, with no soot residue.

Each batch of Old Town Roasting coffee starts with the finest specialty-grade green coffee available. This coffee is bought from individual farmers and small collectives from around the world. Like fine wine, coffee is varied and unique, which is why all of old Town Roasting’s coffees are carefully roasted and tasted again and again, to insure the roasting process has brought out each coffee’s subtle characteristics and unique flavor. The farmers that Old Town Roasting works with put in too much hard work and passion growing and harvesting these coffees for them to end up rushed and over-roasted. Old Town Roasting offers both single-origin coffees and artisan coffee blends. Single-origins vary throughout the year due to the seasonal nature of the coffee itself. Old Town Roasting’s artisan coffee blends are carefully created to blend the artistry of each roast into complex flavors that appeal to a variety of tastes.
